Louth is rich in History and Archaeology and has a fascinating story to tell. The Louth Naturalists', Antiquarian and Literary Society (the Ants & Nats) was set up in 1884 and is a Registered Charity (No. 1145436). The Society opened Louth Museum in 1910; it was extended and modernised to its present form in 2006.

The Society and Museum are entirely run by volunteers. Its continuing existence and programme of activities is wholly dependent on memberships, entry fees and donations.

Please would you consider making a donation to the Ants and Nats to help keep the Society and Museum going? Any amount is welcomed, either by cheque made out to LNALS and posted to The Museum, 4 Broadbank, Louth, LN11 0EQ or direct via BACS to LNALS, contact us or download a form for details.

If you are a taxpayer you can increase your donation by 25% at no extra cost by filling in a Gift Aid form which can be downloaded from our 'PDF Forms' page and sending it to us.

Donate to our Museum Collection

Louth Museum exists to collect, document, exhibit and interpret material relating to the history, antiquities, natural history and literature of Louth and its neighbourhood, for the benefit of the public.

Louth Museum is always keen to acquire uniquely important contributions that tell the story of Louth and its surroundings. Perhaps you own special items that you wish to donate to the Museum or leave to it in your will.

For reasons of storage, display space and ongoing conservation costs, we are very careful about what we collect, and this is made clear in the Museum’s Collections Policy which can be viewed on our 'PDF Documents' page. We shall be delighted to talk to you about your suggestion of donations or legacies to our collection.

Leave a cash bequest/legacy in your will

Give Louth’s Past a Future: Help to safeguard Louth’s special history and archaeology and take it forward through the twenty-first century and beyond, by leaving a legacy or in memoriam gift in your will - a legacy allows you to make your mark on the world by providing for a good cause which is close to your heart. Legacies make a huge difference to our work in the Society and are a lasting memorial.

Free of inheritance tax, a charitable donation in your will can also help to reduce the tax burden on your estate and in some instances need not have any effect on the inheritance you leave to loved ones.

To leave a legacy to the Ants & Nats, you simply need to include details in your will. This can be done by writing a will or by making an amendment or codicil to an existing will. Your solicitor or professional adviser will be able to tell you more.
